How SAGA handles local project data, Marketplace entitlement checks, support communications, and third-party services.
Effective date: August 6, 2026
SAGA — Shawn’s Assembly Guide Authoring for Autodesk Fusion (“SAGA”) is published by Shawn Gordon. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to sagaappsupport@gmail.com.
1. Scope
This policy covers the SAGA Autodesk Fusion add-in, this public support website, and information voluntarily sent to SAGA support.
2. Project information that remains local
SAGA reads and creates local project information selected or produced by the user, including:
- SAGA project files and revision records
- Fusion viewport captures
- Instructions and annotations
- Parts, hardware, tools, consumables, and bill-of-materials information
- Product logos and cover images selected by the user
- Generated PDFs and other local publication output
SAGA does not upload this project content to Shawn Gordon, a SAGA-operated server, or an advertising or analytics provider. Users control their project locations and may delete these files using normal operating-system tools.
3. Marketplace-entitlement information
SAGA uses Autodesk’s Marketplace entitlement service to determine whether the Autodesk account signed into Fusion currently has Marketplace access through the Free 30-Day Trial or a purchase. Autodesk is the authority for both types of access; SAGA does not run a separate local trial clock.
The request is limited to the identifiers needed for entitlement verification:
- The internal Autodesk user identifier supplied through Fusion
- SAGA’s Autodesk Marketplace application identifier
Entitlement requests are sent to Autodesk over HTTPS. SAGA does not include Fusion models, captures, manual text, BOM data, project files, product logos, or payment credentials in an entitlement request. Autodesk returns whether the account has a valid entitlement; the response does not tell SAGA whether it is a trial or purchase.
SAGA stores a limited local entitlement record containing the last check time, last successful entitlement time, returned status, Autodesk user identifier, and Marketplace App ID. A previously successful result may be used for up to 24 hours if Autodesk’s entitlement service is temporarily unavailable. This 24-hour period is SAGA-specific cache behavior; it is not an Autodesk-required duration. A completed negative response from Autodesk takes effect immediately.
4. Information SAGA does not collect
SAGA does not include:
- Product analytics or usage telemetry
- Advertising or cross-service tracking
- Automatic crash-report uploads
- A separate SAGA customer account
- Payment-card or PayPal credential collection
- Background upload of Fusion models or SAGA projects
- Sale of personal information
5. Support communications
When a user contacts sagaappsupport@gmail.com, the user voluntarily provides an email address and any message, logs, screenshots, or files attached to the request. Support information is used to answer the request, diagnose defects, maintain support history, and protect against abuse.
Users should remove confidential project information before sending diagnostic material unless that information is necessary for the support request.
6. Third parties
SAGA relies on the following third parties only for the stated purposes:
- Autodesk: Fusion, Marketplace distribution, trial and purchase entitlement verification. Autodesk processes information under its own applicable privacy terms and security practices.
- Google/Gmail: Delivery and storage of email voluntarily sent to SAGA support.
- GitHub: Hosting this public help and policy website. SAGA does not add third-party analytics to this site. GitHub may process ordinary web-request information under GitHub’s own privacy terms.
- PayPal or another Autodesk-designated payment processor: Marketplace payment processing. SAGA does not receive or store users’ payment credentials.
SAGA does not transmit project content from the add-in to these services except when a user deliberately includes such content in a support request.
7. Retention and deletion
- Local projects and output remain until the user deletes them.
- Local entitlement records remain on the computer unless removed during troubleshooting, account reset, uninstall cleanup, or manual deletion. Removing the record requires online re-verification and does not cancel a trial or purchase held by Autodesk.
- Support emails are retained only as reasonably needed to resolve requests, maintain defect or transaction records, meet legal or tax obligations, or address abuse.
- Users may request deletion of eligible support information by emailing sagaappsupport@gmail.com. Information may be retained where required by law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
SAGA cannot delete information held independently by Autodesk, GitHub, Google, PayPal, or another payment processor. Requests concerning those providers must be directed to the applicable provider.
8. Entitlement verification
Entitlement verification is necessary to confirm Marketplace access. A user who does not want that verification may stop using SAGA and uninstall it. A user may withdraw consent for optional support processing by asking SAGA support to close the request and delete eligible support information.
9. Security
SAGA limits transmitted information, uses HTTPS for Autodesk entitlement requests, does not store payment credentials, and does not intentionally include analytics or remote-control functionality. No security method can guarantee absolute protection.
10. Children
SAGA and its Marketplace listing are not directed to children under 18.
11. Policy changes
Material changes will be posted on this site with a revised effective date. Changes will not retroactively expand collection of project content without appropriate notice and, where required, consent.
